Dr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan, hosted a high-level delegation on Sunday led by Princess Beatrice of York. She is here in Pakistan for a heli-skiing expedition. Other personalities present in the visiting delegation included Jose Maria Aznar, former Prime Minister of Spain, Matteo Renzi, former Prime Minister of Italy, Frederico Rigoni and Zia Chishti.
This delegation reflects how the trust of foreign tourists regarding Pakistan’s tourism potential. The President said that the world is increasingly acknowledging Pakistan’s natural beauty and this way, Pakistan can emerge as one of the world’s tourist hub. Prime Minister Imran Khan also declared tourism and related sports as a major source of job opportunities and has emerged as a very important pillar on the national economy as well.
The high profile visit from Europe has been a first of its kind after UK eased its travel advisory to the country due to the improvement in the security situation. Last year in October 2019, Prince William and Kate Middleton had also visited Pakistan of a five-day visit. They toured Lahore, Pakistan’s cultural capital and the scenic valley of Kalash in Chitral.
